Abu Yusuf Bilal Ismail

Bilal Ismail was born in Durban, South Africa. He grew up in sugarcane growing town of Tongaat in the greater Durban area. He memorized the Qur’aan while studying at school, then went on to do a diploma in Computer Science in 1999 as well as qualifying as a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer. He was accepted into the Islamic University of Madeenah in 2001 where he completed his Diploma in Arabic followed by a B.A. in Islamic Law from the faculty of Sharee’ah. After graduating, he returned to South Africa where he had been conducting ongoing weekly Fiqh and Tafseer classes in Durban for the past two years. He is currently conducting local weekly classes for Deen Class and is employed as an instructor for the Al Kauthar Institute which hosts University level weekend courses internationally and he is the head of the Students’ Guild.
He also tutors Arabic classes for adults twice a week.
Abu Faatima Musaaid Dawood


Abu Faatima Musaaid Dawood is a graduate in the faculty of Sharee'ah law from the University of Madeenah. He is currently based in Durban and has independant ongoing hadith classes at a Musjid in Resevoir Hills. He also has seasonal tafseer lessons on a local radio station and is currently a tutor for DeenClass. He teaches arabic for adults several days a week as well.


Areeb Islam

Areeb Islam is a former pastor who now dedicates a lot of his time to serving the Muslim community as a Chaplain. He is one of the only Muslin Chaplains in the Durban region. He is also a lecturer for IPCI and is actively involved in da'wah. He is a part time tutor for DeenClass and lectures in the field of comparitive religion and calling to Islam.
Abu Muawiya Ismail Kamdar
Born in Durban, Abu Muawiyah began his study of Islam at the tender age of thirteen. In 2006, he completed a seven year Islamic scholarship at a local Darul Uloom. In his quest for the truth and authentic Islamic knowledge, Abu Muawiyah continued studying Islam and sat with scholars from a variety of Madhabs and sects. His most notable teacher is Dr Abu Ameenah Bilal Philips. Abu Muawiyah served as an Arabic and Islamic Studies Educator at Ihsaan Boys College is Durban, South Africa in 2008, and as an English and Social Studies Educator at the Al-Fajr International School in Chennai, India for part of 2009. He is a part time Arabic language tutor for Deen Class. Abu Muawiyah currently resides in Durban, South Africa with his wife and two sons.
